ACES: Education Fund increases award amount for four scholarships

College students with a passion for editing now have a shot at increased scholarships from the American Copy Editors Society (ACES).
The ACES Education Fund has been awarding four $1,000 scholarships annually. Those are now worth $1,500 each, effective immediately.
And, in the same competition, ACES continues to offer a top-prize scholarship of $2,500. In addition, each of the five winners will receive travel and hotel money and free registration to attend ACES’ skill-building national conference, which next year will be in St. Petersburg, Fla., March 23-25.
The application process is not arduous. The deadline is Nov. 15. Details are at the ACES Education Fund scholarship page.

The competition is open globally to college students majoring in any subject. Applicants need to demonstrate skill in editing written English.
The nonprofit American Copy Editors Society is an alliance of editors working in newsrooms, magazines, websites, Fortune 500 companies, other businesses, government agencies and nonprofits, as well as freelance editors, students and their professors.  The society’s Education Fund has awarded a total of 88 scholarships.
